Fox's 1.2 million dollar indecency fine was caused by three people complaining. Jeff Jarvis does a little investigative journalism that no mainstream outlets bothered to do. All he did was submit a freedom of information act request
via this form, and they sent him the 90 complaints they had on record (the original claim was 159 complaints). But it turns out 88 of them were nearly identical. So three people complained in America, and the FCC fined a network over a million dollars for a show that was already cancelled.

What's on TV tonight? Nothing! That's right, it's the tenth annual
TV turn-off week. I've actually done this in the past three years, though last year I cheated and just watched everything a week later on TiVo.

The TV Guardian is a "cuss buster," removing all profanity from recordings that are shown on your TV. Finally, something to make my movies and TV more wholesome than Mary Lou Retton (you know your career as a gymnast is in the
shitter can, when you're hawking these kinds of products).

Today I was talking to a friend about how much I miss seeing Mr. Show on HBO. They haven't had a new episode in months, so I went to their
official site and they're talking about making a movie soon! I couldn't find mention of it anywhere else, not even at the
IMDB. I did find some interesting fan sites like
this one. I also noticed they're selling
bowling shirts among other goodies at the HBO store site.

EXPN is ESPN/ABC/GoNetworks/DisneyEmpire's newest attempt to exploit the existence of extreme sports. I've spent most of my life skateboarding, but I still don't know how much of it I could watch on TV. I'm sure it would get old after a few weeks.
