Hockey Fans Throwing Weird Crap on the Ice

Fans of the Nashville Predators Hockey team threw a live catfish onto the ice during Friday’s game. Since 1996, fans of Florida Panthers have been throwing fake rats onto the ice, after player Scott Mellanby discovered a huge rat circulating in his dressing room, split it open with his stick and then scored a couple decisive goals, inspiring the 'Rat Trick' tradition. And supporters of the Stockholm-based AIK ice hockey team threw rubber dildos, and waved giant inflatable penis, to remind player Jan Huokko, (‘Dildo-Jan’) of a leaked sex video of him with his girlfriend. Turns out this kind of thing is fairly common in the world of hockey fandom. (Via Everlasting Blort)

Breakfast: The Most Important Meme of the Day

"If someone ever asks you to describe the Internet to them in four words look them straight in the eye and say “cats morphing into croissants.”" May not apply to black cats, unless you like badly burned croissants. Croissants are good for breakfast, but so is bacon. And waffles. And cereal. And if you include "civet cats", coffee (via). And maybe even Pop Tarts. Seriously. (Sadly the t-shirt has been discontinued.)

I believe I will, I believe I will

Waffle House Family and other classics are now available for listening in the comfort of your own home via online jukebox. No longer must you drive the darkness of the American Highway seeking that 24-hour beacon of yellow squares; no longer suck your sweet tea from the straw as you seek out original Waffle House tunes while waiting for your hash browns (scattered, smothered, and covered, of course) to arrive. Mary Welch Rogers, wife of House founder Joe Rogers, is one of several artists who recorded Waffle House-themed songs for the fast-food chain's jukeboxes. Most were penned by Buckner and Garcia of Pac Man Fever. While you're at it, visit the shrine, and enjoy David Wilcox's song about feel the peace that's cooked in grease.

Tri-State Malted Waffles

Tri-State Malted Waffles Why? Because I spent a half hour in heavy, waffling traffic, slowly passing and being passed by one of their trucks bearing the plate 'WAFFL1'. Hee. It's fun to say over and over again: malted waffles malted waffles malted waffles. Uh-oh - might be time to take that test again.
