WALK
.. is a trippy 1983 journey from one part of Minneapolis to another. It begins with a guy who can hardly move. He slowly gains stuttered motion and utters basic letter sounds, then begins a real and imaginary walk. His journey is from his view - floating. At the end of this walk, he meets a friend. Walk's film surface is hand worked and street noise is composed as music-concrete. 16mm B/W SLYT

Philosophy fundraiser mountain walk-a-thon. Prominent philosophy professor Crispin Wright will walk the length of the
Pennine Way, a 250+ mile mountaintop trail in the UK, to raise funds to support his philosophy students. (The link on the Pennine Way is worth reading.) Along the way he'll stop each day to answer a philosophical question voted on by the people who contribute to the fund.

The Urban Pantheist is the livejournal of Jef Taylor, where he works out articles for his two zines:
The Urban Pantheist: Loving Nature while Living in the City and
Urban Nature Walk. The LJ became a bit more as he embarked on a project called
365 Urban Species, where he'll post a current photo and short article about a different living thing found in the city each day.

Fat Man Walking. Steve Vaught chronicles his effort to shed most of his 400 pounds on the highway from San Diego to New York. An inspiring, if medically dangerous, tale of human willpower. (via today's
Washington Post, registration required).

Ever wanted to go for a
really, really,
really long walk? Just to make it difficult, how about carrying something
really, really heavy
(in more than a few ways...) to some
rather unfriendly places...
Meet interesting
people,
get
famous,
predict the
future, accumulate
amazing
numbers, get
the
real deal on shoes... Even
kids can
play. What else would one expect from a
hippie priest with a
recording career that took him
From
Sunset Strip to the Whitehouse?
And, of course,
the
final frontier.

"We're walking from Chicago to San Francisco. Many have responded with, "
You guys are stupid!" Some, on the other hand, have said, "Wow, that's cool!" Either way, we hope you'll keep coming back to see what will happen next in our walking adventures."
Current mileage, photo galleries, and journal entries abound -- and really, when was the last time
you walked 627 miles (inside of 60 days)?
