Anyone presently surfing the net at work may appreciate Powerloafing w/ Cubicle Carl. This miniature sitcom about a guy who goofs off takes place entirely in a cubicle – an admittedly thin premise that delivers more comedy than expected, with the current episode placing that cubicle on the Starship Enterprise. It’s co-produced by an Emmy award winning comedy writer, (Mr. Show, Chris Rock Show, Mad TV) and a group of alt-comedians you'll recognize if you're a comedy nerd, including: supernerd Brian Posehn and supergeek Blaine Capatch. Interesting side note: it’s shot on a fake office set in a small apartment in North Hollywood. Everyone works for free, even the semi-celebs, and it’s Creative Commons,. NSFW, due to undeniable goof-off element.

First National Lampoon does a "parody" of the bumps on Cartoon Network's popular Adult Swim programming block. Then G4's Attack of the Show responded (and the editor of the Lampoon's site responds in the comments -- look for posts by JayPink), and then Adult Swim themselves did on Sunday (Flash re-creation of the aired bump). Main link NSFW/those with a sense of humor

Pupna is "the search engine puppy that retrieves EXACTLY what you are searching for (and absolutely nothing else!)" ;-)

This is a simple yet rather humorous search engine parody - are there any other good ones out there?

Sore Thumbs - A webcomic featuring a liberal girl, her ultra-conservative brother and mother, her ditzy best friend, and a love interest who lost his manhood in Iraq (and the love interest's pet bear). All (sans mother) working at a video game store. Well drawn, and very funny (and not just liberal humour, although there is plenty of that too)

So Now That It's Curtains For SatireWire, What's Left To Humour Us? Should we panic yet? Is the Web as funny ha-ha as it used to be? Thanks to this serendipitous find I was tickled to discover Kurt Luchs has some funny pages of his own. David Jaggard's list is quite conventional and brief (lots of glaring omissions), but it cheered me up. [As did this wonderful H.L. Mencken page, with these refreshingly un-pc aphorisms, if I may just shoe-horn it in here...]

Bush or Chimp closes shop. Another stalwart anti-Bush site has folded in light of recent events. The irreverent bushorchimp.com, dedicated to visual comparisons of the President and various look-alike primates has closed down. I understand that we're in the midst of a crisis, but is Bush now beyond criticism? Ok, maybe pictures that compare Bush to monkeys aren't exactly thoughtful criticism... Still, NOW where am I going to get novelty t-shirts for friends and family this Xmas?
