If This Then Basically Anything

Though it was discussed before in beta, If This Then That lets you do amazing things by connecting web services together. There is a good Lifehacker guide to getting started, but then you can create your own "recipes:" automate job searches, download torrents by sending emails from your phone, text to escape awkward situations and much more Some other favorites:
Download any Facebook photo in which you are tagged to Dropbox
Get notified when packages change status in shipping
Transcribe voicemail to Evernote
Send any Google reader articles that you tag to a Kindle
Save starred Google Reader items to Pocket
Lots of cool stuff if you have Belkin Web Switches attached to lights.

quoting with image maps

Kwout, Use it to grab a quick quotation or other screen shot from a web site and embed it into a blog or other website (one click to Flickr and Tumblr).. [via/via] When you invoke Kwout (either from their web page, or from a bookmarklet…) a medium sized screen shot is taken of the page you are quoting. You can then click and drag the cursor to highlight the section of the page you want to quote. Once you have grabbed your selection you are then taken to a page where you are presented with a number of display options. Copy the associated code and you can then paste the Kwout image map into any web page.

It's a trap!!

Folder Share is an online service that synchronizes multiple pcs, or just specific folders in multiple pcs, by creating a localized p2p network. You could use it, for example, to keep your work & home mp3 collections identical. Until recently, the service cost $50/year, thanks to corporate largesse (and doubtless, evil intentions on the part of the new owner, Microsoft), it's now free. Unless you place some value on not letting Microsoft catalog what's on your PC.

Google opens SOAP interface.

Google opens SOAP interface. I'm not sure what's coolest about this. That Google can be used in all kinds of applications, or that it's free up to 1000 hits a day so the independent developers will get a good crack at it, or that's it the first step of Level 2 of the www arriving in a cascading recombinance of web services and scripting glue.
