About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
I am a long-time Metafilter user, but spend more time lurking than participating of late.
In my meatspace life, my wife, turtlegirl, and I have a small farm in rural Vermont. We used to raise rare breed Navajo-Churro sheep in order to help save the rare breed, but now keep a small spinner's flock made up of one Navajo-Churro and 3 Shetlands. We have 2 wonderful gelded llamas to look after the flock.
I am a homebrewer, and founded the Homebrewer Outreach & Preservation Society in central Vermont.
From 2013-2015 I did a few music radio shows on the local low power station I helped found, and for which I designed the entire system -- at least as far as the computers, the Internet stream and the recording and rebroadcasting of programs are concerned.
I took a sabbatical from the station in August 2015 in order to help support my wife and my's new venture, the first in the country all natural sheep and goat skin tannery.
