What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
You want to know the deal with my nickname? Ok, but afterwards, I might have to kill you.
It's short for another nickname. When I got a computer again in the mid-90s, everyone I ran into got tired of typing out my old nickname from the days of Commodore 64s ... which was Override B (and no, I will not tell you where that one came from, then I'd really have to kill you). One of my online friends noted that a good deal of my digital artwork involved orbs, that the letters O-R-B were all present in my original nick, AND that I reminded them of a character in Piers Anthony's "Being a Green Mother" whose name was Orb (which I am still not sure whether I agree with or not). And so, I was dubbed Orb sometime in 1995, and it stuck ... and then it expanded to my offline life. And now ... I will never be able to get rid of it. :D
Ok, so can you keep that secret or do I have to kill you?
