About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
"A Simple Idea
Animals either matter morally or they don't.
If they don't matter morally, they are just things to which we have no moral obligations.
If they do matter morally, the very least we owe them is not to inflict suffering or death on them in the absence of a compelling reason.
Palate pleasure and fashion sense cannot constitute a 'compelling reason.'
Therefore, if animals matter morally, we cannot eat, wear, or otherwise consume animals. It's not a matter of whether we treat them 'humanely.' We cannot justify using them at all."
