HD Camera that won't freeze?

Can you help me find an HD video camera? I need an HD video camera for work. I work in the snow, so, it needs to be pretty rugged and not be shy with cold temperatures. I'd love to get away from tapes, but, I've heard that HD cameras don't play nice with freezing temperatures (but I've never actually seen this in print anywhere). I'm often out in the mountains before sun rise in below zero temps, so, I need a camera that can handle these conditions. It needs to be small enough to fit in my backpack with all the other equipment that is required for ski touring in the backcountry. I currently work on Windows XP, so it needs to play nice with that. I've been a still photographer for a long time, but, I really don't know anything about video and I'm trying to get up to speed with a good camera that I'm not going to destroy in one winter. Suggestions? <br>
<br>
Also what are some good video forums/sites for N00bs?<br>
<br>
Thanks in advance.

How many times a day does the normal 2 year old poop?

How many times a day does the normal 2 year old poop? My kid will be two years old in January and on average he has a bowel movement 3 - 4 times a day. 2 of which are generally very large. Is this normal? I don't really have another point of reference.

Coffee Shops in Charlottesville, VA.

Looking for a good coffee shop in the Charlottesville, VA. area for working in the evenings... I'm on a extended vacation here at my parents farm outside of Charlottesville, VA. My work is flexible enough to accomodate this long trip, but, I do have work to do. My folks have WiFi but it's a little hard to work around here between my folks and my 16 month old son. I need good coffee, late hours, free WiFi and not a Starbucks. Anyone have any suggestions in C-ville?

Looking for an easy to use database interface

I need to collect a list of names and addresses at a trade show on a Windows XP Home Laptop. It needs to be setup in such a fashion that attendees walking past our booth can input thier information themselves. How can I do this? I was originally planning on running PHP and MySQL on the laptop and building a form that would run in a full screen web browser, but because of a lack of support for IIS with XP Home and some other issues, this option is no longer feasible. What other programs or methods can I use to accomplish this?

Firefox is too slow

Firefox Filter: Recently, Firefox on my XP laptop has become incredibly slow. It seems that the problem is that it is downloading images one by one. Even when it is the same image displayed repeatedly on a webpage. I've run every kind of Spyware and Virus software I can find on my computer, and uninstall and reinstalled the latest version of FF all to no avail. How can I get back up to speed? When I did the uninstall FF came back with all it's preferences and extensions. (the only extension I really have on this system is the developer extension) <br>
<br>
A long time back, off a Metafilter post I made some changes to FF, I think it was called Faster Fox. I don't believe that this is the problem though.<br>
<br>
Does anyone know what could be the cause of this mysterious condition?

Name that children's toy... What is the name of the kids toy where you pull the string and an arrow goes around and lands on the image of an animal and says "The cow says Mooooo". I've been racking my brain on this one.

I'm trying to find a good online fax broadcast system.

I'm trying to find a good online fax broadcast system. I work for a company that sends out a snow report to a list of subscribing hotels, ski resorts, rental shops, etc... We currently use an old Windows 98 system with two modems to send out these faxes. This is sometimes unreliable and we would like to be able to send these from home rather than come into the office. Does anyone have an online fax company that they would recommend?

Gastronomical Vegas?

Cool restaurants in Vegas that are moderately priced? My wife and I had our 4th Anniversary yesterday, this weekend we're going to Vegas to stay with some friends and catch a show. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good restuarant in Vegas that isn't too expensive? On or Off the strip is fine. Thanks in advance.

I need a title.

Help me come up with a new job title. I'm basically a web master, but, I'm so much more than that. We're in the process of doing job evaluations with some outside consultants and I want to come up with a new title. Currently I go by Web Administrator. Some of my other duties include member services (as far as their listings on our websites), advertising purchasing and sales, light programing, photography and writing for our various sites, and distributing our content to other sites that want it. One idea was Interactive Specialist, but, that isn't quite what I'm looking for. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
