The nickname "Woody" was given to me roundabout 4th grade, when a friend's dad decided that I looked like a "young Woody Allen."
Mid-high school, I started using "Woody" full-time (too many Michaels in the world).
Started DJ'ing under the name "DJ Woody" (imaginative, huh?).
'Net searches turned up lots of Woodys, many DJ Woody's but absolutely no 'Wüdi's — and 'DJ Wüdi' was born.
