About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

I've moved around a little over the years. Feel free and ask me about any of these places, and I'll give you an unvarnished opinion.

I have played guitar since about 1977. The first song I learned how to play start to finish was "Black Dog". It was an excruciating to anyone who would listen, but I got through it.

In the sort of twist that has become common in my adult life, after I got an M.A. in French Literature, I started my career in investment banking. I bore witness to the evils of being driven solely by the pursuit of mammon, saw the light, sold all my shit and moved to Seattle to to be in a rock band.

That only lasted about as long as my savings held out, I was again seduced by the lure of dirty, filthy lucre and got a job at large northwestern company known to some as the "Evil Empire". That mostly didn't take, but I made a bunch of friends and gathered a bunch of skills there, hung out my own shingle as a consultant, and have mostly been managing start up or turnaround technology and on-line product groups ever since.
