What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? Athanassiel is a name I made up for a character I made up. It has echoes of Athanasios ("deathless") and thalassa (the sea) and the suffix -el ends the archangels' names, because it is one of the names for god. This all appealed to me in connection with the character I invented—however I am not deathless, a sea-creature or angelic in any way, nor am I particularly connected to god. I just like the name.
