About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
Going (not very) stealth for a bit. Will hide below soon, when I remember to.
FN initial + LN. let's see now... I think my nick was originally my second email address, probably from a university account in the eighties.
My first-ever nick was Odie Dihoway on a VAX-hosted BBS called "Note" hidden away in the depths of the early-80's Indiana University computing network. in 2003, a thread at Something Awful featured some transcripts from Note. It was like a cross b/t the later 80s dialup BBS systems and usenet.
Come to think of it, Mefi is sorta like that too, which may be why I enjoy it so much.
A tip o' the hat to young master Danelope is in order.
(No, I'm not a pilot. My dad and I took a biplane ride - it was great - in 2005 and this was a souvenir. Maybe someday.)
