video watermarking?

Whenever I watch .mov files now (like these: 1, 2, 3), I get small, vertical colored bars that randomly pop into the video, then fade after a few seconds. I also get this on old .mov files on my computer that didn't have it before I installed the newest version of quicktime. What's up with that?

Atlanta existence

My friend is moving to Atlanta and wants advice on different neighborhoods. Her questions:
'Is atlanta a real city? With areas that are communities with some trees and not apartment cells like a dead wasp nest? And social growth of some sort that comes out of prior poverty <the same which allows me to afford to live> and non-Man places to gather foodstuffs. And from which I can ride a bicycle to Emory University and live to tell of it?
Is it possible to exist carlessly?'</the>

Southwest Road Trip

Some friends and I are going on a week-long road trip in the beginning of March. We'll mainly be around the Arizona-New Mexico border. What are some cool things we can see and do? Here are some places I've thought of:

Gila National Forest
Canyon de Chelly
Chaco National Historic Park
Very Large Radio Telescope Array

Any other suggestions? Ghost towns, abondoned mines, rock formations, etc? Any cool / weird towns we should stop at?

I have a white cat named Casper. I never call him that, however. Depending on what mood I'm in, I'll call him Capso, Tiny, Pookoo, or some combination, like Tiny Capso-Pookoo. Similarly, my friend in high school had a Siamese cat named Tiffany that people would call Tiffers, Reefer, or Reefer Eebeep. Are pet nicknames like this widespread? What's your pet's real name and what are the weird stream-of-consciousness nicknames you've come up for it?
