About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
I was really into snowboarding when I was trying to come up with my first email address (WAY back in 1996), so I wanted something related to snow and/or the riding thereof: glissade, ride, slide, avalanche, jib, sinter, &c. Everything good was taken, and I was getting frustrated. All of a sudden the name 'Peckinpah' popped into my head - no good reason for that, I'm not even much of a fan of the director's films, and he has nothing to do with snow as far as I'm aware. Not knowing how to spell the guy's name properly, I tried 'Pecinpah', and it worked. Now I use it all the time for everything - email address, here, twitter, music I make, as a pen name. I've even received checks with the name 'Kele Pecinpah' on them (which I was able to cash, for some reason).
I like it.
