What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

My screen name began with a roommate who owned the game Monster Rancher. I gave my name to it as Klang (generally followed with an appelation like "the Destructorator" or something). After a while, it became the name that I'd use on forms that I didn't feel like giving my real name to (like, web registrations and grocery store cards).
Due to either fuck ups on my side or on MetaFilter's, the first three user names that I tried were all taken or got screwed up along the way to paypal.
Hence "Klang Klangston," who still receives mail at my home. Angry mail, for angry Klang Klangston!

I broke my arm and leg a while back, and got a lot of great support from the community. The hospital ultimately forgave the debt and I paid most everyone else off.

Carsonb and I are currently engaged in a long-running twosquare league battle, and I invite any local MeFite to come, play a game or two, and enter the rankings. Carson's secret move is backspin!
