About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

The MetaFilter Music Podcast: Rock and/or Roll to go. Visit this MeTa for more!
[On indefinite hiatus: If you are working on a "How I Make Music" feature, feel free to send it to me and I will make sure your efforts have not been in vain (Or perhaps Matt would be interested in including it in the official podcast?). If you're hankering to produce a MetaFilter Music podcast of your own, I'm more than happy to provide an update and link on the extant MMP site and RSS feed.]

Remember those wacky ol' Bullpen Bulletin Pages Marvel Comics published, nestled neatly betwixt the pages of your favorite four colour epics? Fondly recall those pulsatin' propagandistic pages wherein Smilin' Stan and the gang brought you news and gossip and indoctrinated generations of young people in the ways of Mighty Marvel?
No?
Well, click on the link anyway.
'Nuff said!

I was a lurker on MeFi when I saw this AskMe and got that "Hey, I so know that!" tingly feeling.
Eerily, five bucks and one year less a day later, I used essentially the same link in response to this AskMe about recursive narratives... coincidence... or laziness... or something more sinister? Dun DUN DUNNNN!
Definitely laziness.

Alvy's a phonetic pronunciation of my initials as well as a tip of the hat to a Woody Allen character with whom I share an eerie number of neuroses. Ampersand is just fun to say.

As seen on, um, Court TV's Crime Library.
