What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
When I decided to create a throwaway email ID and handle for all subscription based services way back, I went broke and couldn't come up with a good name. The immediate thing which came to mind is that this ID is "for websites". So be it.
When I joined MeFi, little did I know that it's not just another throwaway ID. I only knew that it was crazy and informing and educating enough to pony up $5.
If I knew then what I know now, I'd have chosen a better ID like forwebsites_notthedigitfour_WordAllOneWord. (ha!)
