What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
My username is kind of boring by mefi standards - it's my initials and a number I like. (1023 in decimal is 1111111111 in binary, or 10 1's.) I've used it in a bunch of places and it's my first alternate if "rmd" is unavailable as a name.
I started using the internet back in 1981. It was less interesting back then, although it did have its moments.
I'm a network engineer, which is just a fancy term for 'pothole-filling road crew for the information highway'.
