Once upon a time I was going to be a biologist, and I spent a lot of time watching tidepool sculpins. They're cryptic, venomous little critters.
Instead, I wound up with a disabling illness that took my life in an unexpected direction. Now I'm a housewife, an ambitious vegetable gardener, and an oddly serious student of aikido and Pilates. But I still like sculpins.
