About seven years ago I was working for an ISP, and was given web space and allowed a domain on the company dime. After a night, on the clock (a factor in my surprisingly quick dismissal), of looking up domain names, I turned to a Latin-English word translator and came up with "griphus", which translates to either 'riddle' or 'enigma'. The name stuck, especially as 'griph' goes over pretty well as a general nickname.
