Back in my undergrad days, I used to play basketball with a couple of my friends. We would play 21, a game that lets you take free throws after making a basket. My asshole friend liked to slam the ball off the backboard so that he could take a 2-point shot in place of his 1-point free throw. Whenever he tried this, I would lunge into his path and swipe the ball out of the way - a move that came to be known as "the Bearclaw."
We watched a lot of Mission Hill back then and got into the "Blanky McBlankerton" template for name-calling, and I gradually turned into Grizzly McBearclaw. It's grown to the point that one of my newer friends thought my name was "Bear" for the first three months that he knew me.
