About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
General Analyst/Programmer at NOAA's Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) under the Cooperative Institute for Limnology and Ecosystems Research (CILER)
Any commentary in the MeFi domain are my own and not of my employer.

You have a special place here. So much brain power, so much contribution, so much insight to how the world is working these days, when previously venerable news media (and education systems for that matter) just don't deliver. And while we don't so much have a documented right to know, we know through taught history what happens when large populations or certain ones aren't in the know about important things.
Keep it up, fellow MeFites
