What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
'chrismear' is evidently just my name, which I started using a few years ago as an online moniker, just because it's straightforward, isn't usually already taken, and because I don't feel the need to hide behind some funny alter-ego. Actually, I quite enjoy the fact that, in the forums and chat rooms of today, a simple name actually stands out amidst all the made-up words that people use as their titles.
My first internet was CompuServe in '93/'94. I remember doing a class presentation to my fellow 12-year-olds explaining what this internet thing was ("it lets you communicate with other computers all over the world, without being directly connected to them!"). I even showed them a picture of Sonic the Hedgehog I had downloaded via FTP. Good times.
