About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

For the record, that picture isn't me. It's Rupert Grint's face poorly photoshopped over Emma Watson's face from some reddit thread.

My earliest (and maybe best) internet memories stem from playing a game called Kingdom of Loathing. Seeing as the game stressed literacy, culture, and humor, I took it upon myself to absorb it all in. I still play, after taking a break for a few years-- I'm up for a friendly speed run competition anytime!

Around the same time I was avidly devouring Homestar Runner, which also had a huge impact on my sense of humor. I still catch myself uttering oddball quips from the cartoons. And it also inspired my handle throughout a lot of my internet browsing- StrongbadfanEX is the name. A pretty uncreative title, but when I'm not using askiba (also uncreative) I'm using that. Try to resist googling it and discovering my 12 year old ramblings.

Once upon a time, I worked with a bunch of other awesome people to make a game called Soul Raver. It didn't work out, but it was a great experience.

Nowadays I keep to myself, creation-wise. I still play a lot of Kingdom of Loathing, and trawl through Metafilter and Reddit pretty regularly, but otherwise I'm just trying to absorb.
