About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

If I'm feeling overwhelmed or tense about something. I like to say to myself, "Be like smoke!"

You can see smoke, but you can't hit it. If you try to push it or force it, you just pass straight through. There's no resistance, but it's still there. It's flexible, subtle, but sure.

I read quite a lot and generally put reviews of everything I'm reading up on Librarything; you can check them out here if you're so inclined.

I did some fairy tale blogging for Tor.com at one point.

I used to write about fantasy novels or tropes at an Australian blog called Larvatus Prodeo. You can find the entries here (imaginatively, I'm Patrickg).

I was formerly a freelance writer and reviewer for a few years, and if you're really keen a judicious googling might throw up some other reviews etc, but we've come so far, why ruin it now?
