It's been a while since our last post, so I thought I'd remind folks about the Metafilter RUNNER+ group. MetaFilter Runs v.3.1 is nearly finished, and it looks like ajr is going to take out the speed title. Congratulations, ajr! There seems to be a consensus that the distance challenges are more motivating though (especially for those of us who are decidedly more tortoise than hare), so pj_rivera has proposed an ongoing series of monthly distance contests. The June one is just starting, so please list your Nike+ username if you haven't been issued an invitation yet.

I just wanted to publicly thank FuzzyVerde, who actually delivered three tubs of ice cream to my pregnant sister today for her birthday (complete with festive cooler). The idea that a complete stranger halfway around the world would offer to help me out is just amazing. I love MeFites!

I'm a first time cat owner with a new 12-week-old kitten. I've read all the handbooks and official information I can get my hands on but I'm looking for practical advice from experienced "cat people" about feline psychology, training with positive reinforcement, and cat-proofing the house. I'm getting a lot of weird URLs in my site's referrer logs that look like this: wysiwyg://5/http://www.mydomain.com/somepage.php. Anybody know what the heck's going on? [more inside]
