About

What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.

As all aspiring urbanologists will tell you the urban greeting is a ritual performed by a large cross-section of society. It can range from a simple (yet timeless) casual "low-five" all the way up to the complicated (yet highly impressive) "i-watched-21-jumpstreet-as-a-kid-and-vaguely-remember-the-handshake-that-involved-pulling-an-imaginary-gun-out-of-my-jacket-and-shooting-at-a-bird-that-was-simulated-earlier-in-the-greeting-and-thus-teach-strangers-this-greeting-as-a-way-of-letting-them-know-that-not-only-are-my-handshakes-complicated-but-they-are-based-on-television-shows-that-are-so-bad-they-are-good-thus-defining-me-as-someone-who-is-at-least-as-ironically-cool-as-said-show".

There will never be a definitive list of all available urban greetings, as it is a constantly evolving art form, but it is safe to say that while it may not provide a particularly memorable nor impressive handle for online communities, it will always be a part of the streetwise scene of the pseudo hipster.

if i had my time over perhaps i would have used a different name.

today, for example, i would choose the name "printernet" - because i am 100% behind all efforts to successfully print out the internet ...... who really wants to read things on a screen anyway?
