About
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
"mosspink" is my nick because all the cool non-compound words like "pomegranate" and "plastic" were already taken. I searched my sketchbook and saw some notes/drawings I made at the UCB Botanical garden and then, among a list of Latin and common plant names, I saw "mosspink" scrawled in pencil.
. . . . .
From Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary:
Main Entry: moss pink
Function: noun
Date: circa 1856
: a low-growing perennial phlox (Phlox subulata) widely cultivated for its abundant usually pink or white flowers
