Psykopaint

Psykopaint is really fun, visually interesting and free. It is a rich internet application in which you can turn your pictures into paintings by grabbing one of the 6 brushes provided and start painting while the colors are selected automatically for you. Created by Mathieu Gosselin.

It makes everything look like a badly done Monet.

To be fair, ZaneJ, it sometimes makes things look like badly-done Van Goghs, too.

That said, I've played around with a lot of "painting" apps, and a lot of image-recognition apps, and this one seems pretty solid.

I'd like to see it play Saleri.

The slower you paint the more detailed. Nice.

These don't look anything like paintings. They just look like screwed up photos.
Painting is cool, photography is cool. Photographs trying to be paintings is just sad.

It's as bad as printing photos on canvas textured paper. Wait, it may be worse.

Labels, labels. It's photomanipulation with emphasis on painting styles. Whatever you call it, the "garbage in, garbage out" rule applies.

Is there a secret trick to making it do things? All I get is Psychopaint and a quote in white letters on a black background.
