Refuse and Resist Anti-Arab Racism. To do so is your minimal moral duty.

we should remember racism streches over the oceans as well -- to generalize about the attitudes or actions of people in the Middle East is just as damaging.

love.

Also, if you're going to be around Westwood tomorrow (the 13th), UCLA is holding a memorial at noon in front of Royce Quad.

To generalize is of course wrong, but to refuse and resist means to take the next step and intervene when you witness hatred or discrimination, online or in person.

attacking those in this country who seem as if they may be of the same race as the terrorists is virtually guaranteed to be attacking those who are innocent. It's demonstrating the basest nature of human being, the same urge that caused the terrorists to kill thousands of people on the east coast.

Some day not so far distant those involved will pay a heavy price. Attacking your middle eastern neighbors (and other people who look that way) won't help. It hurts our national character.

If you see this happening, please do your best to stop it.

If it had came from any group that wasn't infested with a bunch of preening cocks I might have thought it was about something beyond themselves, something more than them rolling around in the stink of their own smug self-righteousness. Too bad.

Mostly Bijan. The rest have garnered my skepticism by choosing to affiliate with him.

What is needed is, for people on the street to show the kind of courage that some did in the air, or on the ground in NYC.

That is, if you see thugs harassing Arab-Americans, step up to stop it. Do something. Put yourself in the way of an ass-kicking, if you have to. But don't condone racsist action in our streets, done in the name of patriotism and nationalism.
