If you un-embed the video, you'll see that it's listed as Part 3 of the "Found: Lost Pictures of New York Blizzard" adventure. Here is Part 2. It's clips of interviews Todd has had since posting the first clip, and wild guesses about the people in the film.

That is pretty surprisingly great.

And of course, I have to watch it instead of reading the summary. The entire time the Rules of Attraction montage kept playing in my head. In fact this was such a polar opposite of the montage, that if the two ever meet there'd be some sort of This American Life narrated black hole.

I thought the bit about the photographer not being as into it as all the people who'd previously contacted him and whom he met up with around Europe was interesting. The people who volunteered to help him would probably have been more social people by nature or they wouldn't have put themselves out there like that, whereas the woman whose film it was wasn't necessarily all that keen to push herself into the middle of a crazy internet thing.

I see he has kept up the annoying, faux-off-the-cuff RadioLab voice going, but still a really nice story. And a good, unintentional plug for the joys of CouchSurfing.

It felt awkward to watch the two of them talk in that cafe. He was probably thinking, I HAVE BROUGHT THE INTERNET TO YOU, DO NOT MAKE THIS AWKWARD and she was probably thinking, "you are doing that RadioLab thing again, did you know that"

He wants so badly to be seen as sweet and humble and Ira Glassy, but everything about him screams 'LOOK WHAT I DID!!!" He enjoyed the attention more than anything.

I disagree. I found this very sweet and genuine.

OH MAN I FOUND SOME FILM EVERYBODY

REMEMBER FILM? THIS IS THE GREATEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN TO THE INTERNET

THIS IS IN CAPS SO PEOPLE CAN HEAR ME ALL THE WAY OVER IN EUROPE, WHICH IS LOVELY AND JUST LIKE HERE EXCEPT PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT BEING INTERNET FAMOUS OVER THERE AS MUCH

I sincerely thought that the way this resolved (hey they actually were european, look i'm a lightweight american drinker keeping up with teh euros, boy some of this really is awkward) would offset some of the snark around the first video and the guy's original motives. Guess I was wrong.
Still, a nice story imo.

Nothing can offset mefi's snark. If its energy could only be harnessed we could power the planet.

*facepalm* for all the snark and cynicism on here.

A sad, pathetic bunch you are.

I don't know about the RadioLab voice, but I do have to say that calling him 'The Boy Amelie' is genius.
