Six months ago, MetaFilter discussed Russian LGBT activist Nikolai Alexeyev's disappearance. This past week, an interview with him was aired on Gay USA. (Interview starts around 30m10s, and runs for 17m30s ) Episode also available as audio only, and available through iTunes as a free podcast.
His disappearance isn't really covered much in the interview; most of the conversation is about the fight for equality in Russia.

Um... Well, he is safe and sound, and re-emerged ages ago. The interview is only a couple of weeks old.

I hadn't heard about this guy (missed that thread) and thus made the same assumption as LMGM, with the same sense of disappointment and worry after seeing the interview. Glad to hear he's been out and about for a while after all.
Interesting guy. Foreign gay rights activism tends not to crop up very much in the US media.
