Craaaaazy. And rather hilarious. I just heard Odd Future for the first time (I mean, for the first time again because of course I was totally into them back before, you know, back before people like these guys were into them...) and this is a brilliant extension of that.
At risk of being set on fire, there's something Wu-Tang about OFWGTKA. Both powerful distillations of their place and time. I hear them and I think, "Golly! These young men are gonna go places!"

I like this a lot.
(And if there's something Wu-Tang about OFWGTKA, does that mean there's something El Michels Affair about BADBADNOTGOOD?)

I first heard OFWGKTA on "Yonkers," and dug their beats and original rapping style, but I was turned off pretty quickly by some of the stupid, offensive things they say. I get the feeling that their bigotry is supposed to be ironic, which actually makes it more obnoxious.
BADBADNOTGOOD's cool, though.

I agree completely. They are yet another group I wish were singing in another language. I dig the production, but the lyrics are straight up stupid offensive.

Tyler the Creator's Goblin leaked and it's what everyone's been talking about. It will only make people debate the offensiveness more. Lots of post-post-ironic rape stuff that makes me uncomfortable. And it helps to remember that Tyler's a constructed character. It also somewhat helps that he declares "I'm not a rapist" at least twice on this album, but that doesn't excuse the rape jokes. I also think there might be something intelligent buried in there, as [the Tyler character] seems to yearn for meaningful companionship and wants "cheesy dates at the movies and stupid walks on the beach", and yet in the same breath he'll scream "Cunt!" So I don't know what to think, really.

I love it when groups of men get together and theoretically play with the idea of raping women!
Finally, an unsung voice is heard!
