At first I thought this was just garden-variety kitteh cuteness but then the tiny paws started twitching and I done lost my fool mind. KITTEEEEEEEEH.

Last night my wife was convinced that these cats belonged to a friend of ours, because he had posted the video on Facebook. I had to tell her they weren't, because I had already seen them on MetaFilter.

And now I have to tell you guys that I have already seen this on MetaFilter.

Sure, why not? My roommate's cats: Nacho and Lloyd.

I wish I knew what it is cats dream about. Our cat Yorvit gets very twitchy when he sleeps sometimes - his ears twitch, his paws paddle - and it's adorable (though not, I confess, as adorable as this). I should get some video of it sometime. (He also likes to use his brother Roswell as a pillow.

but then the tiny paws started twitching

Yeah, that's about when my brain shorted out too, but the slow drag where the mom pulls it to under her chin? That's the best, because that's exactly how my Siamese reacts when I pull her over next to me and rest my head on her. She just sort of goes limp and curls up under my neck.

It's awesome, being a middle aged man who also has the powers of the mama cat.

I had a lousy week, including a fifty dollar speeding ticket and a canceled job interview. This video partly makes up for all that noise. Thanks.

Wow. So much cute.

Here is my contribution -- a kitten (a big kitten) who loves fetch a tiny blue wad of paper. The ending is the best. But this still isn't as cute as the main post video.

Is this post here in case we didn't see it 10 times in our Facebook feed in the last 12 hours? Cool, thanks.

(yeah, pretty damned adorable I gotta admit, though I generally consider Metafilter as more of a *starting point* for my viral videos, as opposed to an "in case you missed it" depository)
posted by ShutterBun at 9:01 AM on May 27, 2011

See, it's not enough that the kitteh is lying on his back, mouth open as if ready to let out a loud snore, snuggled by mom-kitteh in the most anthropomorphic way possible. No. On top of that we'll add twitching wee widdle paws, and mom-kitteh pulling baby-kitteh closer in a big omg-kyoot snuggle-hug it just makes every cell in my boduy scream teh kyooot! in unison. Then I get lightheaded and faint from the cute. True.

I mentally preface all of my projections of kitten-thoughts with "I'm fuzzy and."

"I'm fuzzy and I want milk."
"I'm fuzzy and cold."
"I'm fuzzy and I want to chase string."
"I'm fuzzy and I have trouble standing upright."

In this case, it's "I'm fuzzy and dreaming about napping."

a kitten (a big kitten) who loves fetch a tiny blue wad of paper.

Roswell really loves to play fetch. We didn't teach him that - he was born that way. His favorite thing is to bring me a toy to throw right when I'm sitting down to dinner. If I don't play, he yells at me. If I continue to not play, he takes the toy and drops it down the stairs (we're on the third floor) and chases down after it, then carries it back up, drops it down again, etc.

Too adorable.

We just put our 17 year old cat down two weeks ago. Our two year old son asks about her on and off. This morning he woke up happy. We asked him what did he dream about. He said the cat's name.

I hope he was dreaming of hugging her (which is about all he did when she was with us)
