Remember those crazy Danes? Turns out they've had some problems. But they're trying again today! Cecil, meanwhile, is uncharacteristically uninformed. (Previously)

I was actually dreaming sweet dreams about this myself. Came up with some fancy of using a zeppelin like cage put the thing into orbit from... well, however high of the ground the zeppelin could get.

10 minutes till launch, and the TV2 chopper feed is down :( God dammit.

From the live blog: "Latest estimate is launch within the next 40 minutes.. Fueling and pressurization has taken longer than anticipated, but no major problems so far."

Sorry, I was just posting the news I found, and had no idea freerepublic was a Drudge-type site. I'd forgotten about these guys, remembered it when reading the Straight Dope, and stumbled on the coincidence that they're trying another launch today. Good luck, guys!

thsmchnekllsfascists: the automatic ignition sequence failed at first, but they had ignition on third attempt, liftoff went well, the capsule separated from the rocket, but even though the chutes deployed, they failed to open properly. All in all, I guess it was a success.

seriously, zero snark, this. for a bunch of amateurs on their second launch attempt, I'll totally pay that.

Seriously. I'm just stoked that they're trying it in the first place. I can't believe that they hit 6k on their second launch. Is that the official number?

I guess linking to the song Rocket Brothers by Danish rock band Kashmir is appropiate.

Cecil is never uninformed. Ed's probably been putting words in Cecil's mouth again.
