This is wonderful.

It makes me sympathetic to the religious impulse. There's something offensive about the idea of so much beauty being an accident.

oh how I miss the Lofoten Islands. Yes they look just like the movie - but I had several hours of darkness (in April) every night.

yeah, thanks for making me cry and call ma.

I wish he had captured more of the fascinating pink and apricot hues that come and go in that, but the sky does what it wants, when it wants. I've also seen pure glittering bands of gold, like metallic gold which was such a rare thing grandpa got me out of bed to have a look. He said that only happened in the fall, and it was his favorite.
