Hobo Lobo of Hamelin is a thing by a dude, who’s all like, “I’m Gonna Make a Thing.” And then he did. Or is doing. Or, you know, whatever. This dude can be found on the internet. He websites to put food on his family. A wonderfully crafted and designed illustrated book for the digital age.

Show off.

Seriously, who needs flash?

I almost think the words detract, but this is great. I love side scrolling stuff.

I remember this old story that side scrolled, but I think it had embedded flash elements and such. It was cool. I looked it up a couple of years back, but the wayback machine had only bits and pieces of it and it made me sad that is was gone. It was about a woman and a whale if I remember correctly.

Anyway, I love story telling like this. It's neat. I dig the art.

i love this so much; totally jealous of whoever made it. my only complaint is it ends way too soon, so i'll definitely be bookmarking this and keeping an eye out for updates.

i didn't notice this until my 2nd time through, but it automatically scrolls from panel to panel if you use the numbered circles at the top left; it's much smoother and more enjoyable that way. also, don't miss the "what is this thing?" page here; it's an entertaining read.

great post, thanks!

My face hurts from grinning wider and wider as I scrolled through this extraordinary little thing. It has been far too long since the internet has made me grin like this.

I hope it puts lots and lots of food on his family.

If I had any food, I would put it on his family right now, and then pour a few drinks on top. Fantastic stuff.

This is really great, and I especially love the (automatically calculated?) blurb about the update schedule:

Stats: Updates happen on average every 8.4 days. Recently they’ve happened 9.8 days apart. Last update happened 6.4 days ago. Next update better fall before 10:39am on Wednesday, July 6th (CDT), or the mayor will choke a puppy.

That's a terrific use of real webdesign. Probably harder to pull off than flash, but the result is so much better. The story is pretty good too.

cjorgensen: I read all of that guys comics back in the day - it looks like he actually has some news ones up at electricsheepcomix!

I remembered the whale one in particular. It was called Delta Thrives, and I found it here: http://e-sheep.sansara.net.ua/www.e-sheep.com/delta/heartofthesun/index.html

(There was a popup that I didn't understand about teleport pro so I haven't linked it properly on the off chance it is malevolent. It is definitely the right comic though).
