Oddly enough, we were just discussing the Roche limit in #bunnies yesterday. I was saddened to find out that Triton will fall within Neptune's Roche limit in about 3.6 billion years. =(

It's kind of cool that wikipedia has links for the Roche limits of the major bodies in our solar system, as well as the ratios between the limit and the actual distance of the satellite. There are also several bodies which orbit inside Roche limits!

Thanks to this narrator I now I have the perfect voice to head in my head when I read mundane topics to put me to sleep in bed.

That was actually a sperm cell. The Sun has finally been fertilized! Going on solar time scales, the first cell division should occur in a few years and will vaporize the inner planets.

That's why I said kill it. I didn't see that one until after I hit post, I tried to look. So this is pretty much a double. Apologies.

Fixed the tag and took the liberty of putting this post in the original.
