Everyone deserves a little mariachi

It's halfway through the work week, so let's just chill out and watch this mariachi band serenade this happy beluga whale. (SLYT)

This has just become my favorite thing of the day. Possibly week.

Was the whale trying to hear the music better when it was pressing its head against the glass?

This is why Al Gore invented the internet. It overflows with win.

this is just another proof why the whale should not be there.

It's ruined for me because it is always heartbreaking to see a whale in an aquarium. If it wasn't for that, I'd like this very much.

This great in and of itself, but I have chosen to make it even better by imagining that it is the final scene of a lost Herzog film.

Adorable, but something tells me it would prefer electronic rock. Moby, perhaps?

I sent him a text and he said, "Yes!"

The trumpet has a whale echo sound through the glass, they're talking to it.

I was really hoping these were a bunch of seafaring mariachis in a sailboat cruising around the sub-arctic, but this is awesome nevertheless.

My favorite part is the part at the end where you can clearly hear the whale say: "Really enjoyed it, guys. Thank you!"

Oh, belugas in aquariums. I saw this earlier today and it's so cute, but I do feel badly for the trapped beluga. However, I also think of the two belugas that came to the (beleaguered, I know) Georgia Aquarium from (I shit you not) a pool/lake/holding tank UNDER A ROLLERCOASTER in Mexico. I knew the lawyer who worked on the deal. Regardless of anything else, those poor Belugas at least got to get out from under all that weird, loud machinery that surely was not anything approaching a good environment.

Have you ever petted a stingray?

And fed them, yes. They are awesome.

Yes!

You can see him nodding his head in time, but he's not quite got the rythmn.

Oh, come on. Everyone knows white whales don't have rhythm. Cut him/her some slack.

(I did see a white whale jump once, but that may have just been a fluke.)

So is this Juno, The Mystic Aquarium beluga described as "aggressive" in the next video?

If so, all he was saying was "Hey you kids, get out there and find me a mariachi band!"

Kids can be soooo stupid.

How, I wonder, would this whale have responded to Mariachi el Bronx?

Something about the perspective confused me, and for most of the video I thought the band was standing above a pool and the whale was looking up at them.

So, confession: I normally HATE SLYT's on the blue. I mean, that's what YT is for (and Break and all those horrible video sites, with the racist/sexist comments) but anyways, I just had a totally stress-filled shitty day and this video totally made my evening. So thanks for posting :-D

a) The whale looked like it was smiling.

2) I thought the whale was going to clap when it was over.

d) They should've put a mic underwater, cuz I'll bet you that whale was singing along.

Hate to be a pooper, but I read the whale has been trained to responded to certain arm movements.
