A perfect example of how visuals and audio come together in a divine interplay.

The band Thulebasen succeeds in matching a rambling audio side with just as rambling visuals. I have never seen anything like this before. Seriously! It's a monster!

"Rambling" isn't quite the right word. But I don't know what that word could possibly be.

Looks neat; I will give this some real time when I'm not as insanely busy as I am today.

Also, hello debut FPP-maker. Please do make more, as simply seeing your screen name gives me the happies.

"The band Thulebasen succeeds in matching a rambling audio side with just as rambling visuals"

How interesting is the English language, and here, friends, is an example. The sentence quoted above is true. However, if we take it apart a bit and say "The band Thulebasen succeeds." we have to re-evaluate the truth of the statement.

But then, on the other hand, I am NOT under the influence of LSD and probably can't appreciate this.

...à chacun ses goûts...

(See how saying "your favorite band sucks" sounds so much better when you say it in French?

No, seriously, it wasn't so bad. There may not be a lot of heavy metal fans on Metafilter, but there were some cool images mixed in with the dorm-room video stuff. Thumbs almost up for someone who doesn't like this kind of music is really a standing ovation.

Kind of like My Bloody Valentine with a dash of Deerhoof -- but in a good way.

Indescribable, indecipherable and actually painful. I felt as if I was being made to watch Pi again--one of only two movies in which I walked out early. It was critically acclaimed, as this maybe, but just to dissonant.

It doesn't match this video in terms of 'rambling' (by which I take to mean chaotic) visuals.

To me this video seemed like something from MTV in the early 90s Mostly just video of the band playing.

Also π was an awesome movie.

"I have never seen anything like this before" is perhaps more an indication of a lack of experience of the long, long history of trippy trippy trip-out videos (c'mon: go watch 2001, for starters, and follow that path where it leads) than it is an indication of a video's ostensible groundbreaking uniqueness (or, perhaps more properly, the lack of that quality).

Most music videos don't have enough birds, but this one had just about the right amount.

Yeah, whippersnappers, 200 Motels is streaming on Netflix.

Heh, I saw Caroliner do the same show in 2000. That was a lot of fun.

I would seriously block time out of my life to go see a movie if that were the tagline. I would, like, cancel plans with friends visiting from out of town to see that movie. Also I loved Pi. So, you know. À chacun son goût, I guess is what I am also saying.

The whole point of these kinds of things is to make you feel like you're {TRiPPiN BaLLS}, without pharmacological assistance.

I thought it was pretty sweet.

And, as an antidote to that, tripped-out upbeat conspiracy theory crazy from Rx2008 (it's a sad indictment of society that his vids with Gravel didn't lead to a landslide victory).

Reminds me of my youthful days in the 80s spent trying to watch scrambled pre-digital cable channels for a chance glimpse of some tit.
