Was this trip really necessary? I'm not crazy about front-page links with no description as it is, but to have this be yet another WTC discussion catalyst... Aren't there enough other places for us to talk about this?

Filler. Having different people answering all sorts of questions makes it impossible to make any sense out of the article. There is no consistency at all. I think the Guardian was having a slow day and just didn't feel like doing any actual reporting.

"Is there room for an ugly but inevitable feeling of relish at the destruction of such a potent symbol of global capitalism?" Nice. That's where I lost interest.

Was this trip really necessary?

I thought about adding a description, but I didn't know where to start ... I always try include something -- but I thought the title said everything. I've spent the past week or so worrying about what is going to happen next, and as I sat on my commuter train this morning, the article really woke me up -- as did the cover to the section it appeared in -- a photo of a nuclear holocaust. It hadn't occured to me that would be an option...

Don't be so hard on the Guardian.

The endless WTC discussions have just put me in a spin ... this 1 pager neatly sums up the main points > so what if it's not objective > what is.

Thank you...

I think the ridiculous BACKLASH against people who still want to talk about the tragedy is unnecessary and counterproductive. Spend your energies on positive activities, folks. If you don't want to deal with the tragedy anymore, click away, and for God's sake, don't flame the poster. Sorry feelinglistless - I liked the link - thanks for posting it.

The last paragraph of that Guardian article ends in a nice sarcastic flourish--worth scrolling down for.
