"Portland, Ore-gone. A city where everyone knows things before you do." Featuring Rainn Wilson, Mayor Sam Adams and those Portlandia folks. Either shilling for the new Colin Meloy book, or just referencing it. IT'S SO IRONIC, WHO CAN TELL?!?! Ahem. YouTube link. Enjoy.

I am happy for Portland for getting together with all its friends to do a thing.

Well, a man and his daughter did live in Forest Park undetected for four years...

You hear that people? Move to Ann Arbor! It's better than Portland. Go there, not here. No, really, I insist. Don't move here.

/sarcasm... or not?

Also, props on that video for wearing a Florida Room t-shirt. I love that insanely smoky hipster bar.

Mary's Club? Cooler if the shirt had been El Grillo.
someone is bound to get this

As a Portlander, how did I not know about this video until now?

According to isitold.com, this is indeed Old. Of course, that means the first tweet was 14 days ago.

Huh, like comedy without the humor. Or laughter. Or even a slight smile.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't offensive (that'd at least be something to talk about) it's just lame. Especially since I can now look forward to all my friends from back east emailing this to me, and all my Portland friends referencing lines from it for the next few days (it would be weeks, but the attention span around here shortens as the rains begin... thank god hidden peoples of the secret doughnut forest.)

Ahhhh, but what if it included a Saucebox?

IT'S SO IRONIC, WHO CAN TELL?!?!

I can - and it's not so much ironic as faintly silly.

Yeah but teenagers didn't go to Saucebox just to use the restroom. I can't tell you how many high school burritos I ate at El Grillo just so I could take a piss there too.

Why not? Could it be...a riddle of the paranormal???

It's not particularly entertaining. Kind of like Portland. Don't move here. Errr, there.

Don't move to Portland. I hear Ann Arbor is nice.

I started out smiling, but that smile gradually grew stale as a week-old Voodoo Donut while I sat there waiting for the sketch to get...you know, funny.

This is my experience of Portlandia in a nutshell.

I found some laugh-out-loud moments, but like anything actor/ham/egotist Rainn Wilson is in, it would have been better with less Rainn Wilson.

Saucebox? El Grillo? Feh. Give me Vern's or the Triple Nickle.

"Portland is where young people go to retire."

I will never tire of that joke, Fred Armisen/Carrie Brownstein.

I don't know why my fellow Portlanders are being so xenophobic. All of you are welcome here as far as I'm concerned.

The Church of the Bloody Mary at the Florida Room is a thing of beauty.

Sam Adams would totally win re-election if he'd campaign in a toque like that more.

Really guys, we still remember Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, and it was still a hell of a lot more entertaining.

This just reminded me that I don't know where I can watch full episodes of Portlandia online. Thanks a lot, man.

The dream of the nineties is alive in Portland.....

And yes, Ann Arbor is a liberal utopia, if only they would get rid of those fucking annoying football games i would want to live there.

This only makes me want to move to Portland even more so. I think everyone I know has relocated there. I'm not even joking.
