Ah, I was hoping for funny drawings of Easter Island statues like jogging or in a river with fishing waders on or something. This is good too.

Wow! I never even considered there might be more than heads! I did not dig far enough - were there volcanic eruptions of some sort that buried these guys or were they originally meant to be underground?

The Easter Island "heads" are thirty-foot-tall golems, buried up to their necks to immobilize them and prevent them from wreaking havoc. These fools have just doomed us all.

I was probably 8 or 9 and already simultaneously fascinated and a little bit spooked by Easter Island when I saw This episode of Gaiking. This is reassuring (and in all seriousness, wonderful) - thanks!
