Peely was great. A mate saw him at Glastonbury, he was stood about 3 ft away in some music tent. I asked if he spoke to him, and he said that he couldn't think of anything to say, other than "you're John Peel. Thanks" which he felt was stupid. So he just basked in his presence...

I clicked the link and found myself listening to the best track I'd heard all week. I hit the random button and heard something just as good. The third time led to one of my favourite records. All very different styles.

I find that, although I know listening to a Peel show is a keen joy, the memory of the pleasure fades and every time I return to him, it's a pleasant surprise.

Kuppajava This rather fine record (that I'd never heard before) New Bad Things - I Suck comes complete with Peel narration.

To think there was at least a new discovery like this everyday when I used to listen to it his show.

maudlin, At some point I had to click several times not to get The Fall, so it evens out I assure you.
