That 12:00 preview has been making the rounds among my West African friends for about a month now. I am so looking for a DVD when I go over there next week.

Needs more dancing. Otherwise, A++ would watch again.

I so much love that the technology to make movies has become accessible to people in so many cultures that never had that access before, so that they can tell stories from their own perspectives, and from their own point of view. Even something outlandish - it's like seeing how others speak to each other, think of each other, and dream.

Living in the future is SO FUCKING COOL sometimes.

This website seems to have links to many of these movies. I highly recommend THE BOTTLE. It Rules.

This reminds me of something that was on MeFi a while ago - Movie Posters from Ghana. I wonder if there is anything distinctive about Ghanaian film culture that produces these derivative yet original adaptations of American films.

Myke -- there's a copy waiting with a friend in Bamako. We'll have a screening party/mefi meetup in Mali.
