"at least now I can stop worrying about getting cancer" is a great line

With all respect to cancer patients, not sure we need another "Shit ____ Say"

Eh, I'm over it too but I'm not sure if this one is where the line should be drawn. Couple earlier or a couple later, but this one... not so much.

I like the shit ____ say memes. They have slithers of incisiveness, sometimes call out privilege, and are easy enough to ignore. I wouldn't spend hours on youtube digging through them as they vary greatly in quality, but I appreciate them.

It's a better example of the shit____say than many. He's an impressive guy when you read his blog - has been through a LOT and has managed to be remarkably positive.

I'm in awe of this guy.

I represented a guy once, who had a beef with the VA. The VA was in the wrong, but they were fighting it tooth & nail (as they are entitled to do). My guy was no prize either, and one of the issues was, when should the VA have twigged to the fact that he was five cans short of a six-pack. The judge asked me as much, and I said "maybe around the fourth or fifth grievance; certainly by seven or eight."

So, analogously, if you've had cancer five times, you ought'a just accept that god wants you dead.

And then you ought'a tell him where he can shove it. Go Woody.

That made me laugh. My dad had cancer for about a year and went through chemo, radiation, surgery, the whole nine yards, but it was such a serious time that I never got the chance to ask him what it was really like. He just didn't survive long enough to put his usual hilarious spin on it. So, thanks.

Is it dusty in here or is it just me?

With all respect to whiny people in the internet, not sure we need another, "Not sure we need another [thing nobody forced them to watch]."

I liked it. I said "I'M BEEPING" so often through treatment I used to say it was going to be the subtitle of my autobiography.

All the while the machine that goes "beep" is thinking: No, you aren't beeping, noob. I am, and the nurses will come.

I'm surprised how many young people there are at the infusion center. On most days I'd say half of us are well under 50. Woody is going through hell, but the will to live prevails.

That was great. Maybe it's because I watched 50/50 last night, but his attitude struck me as perfect.

Oh my god - "Thanks for the hat!"

I had chemo in February, in Chicago - EVERYONE gave me hats! Relatives I hadn't seen in years, people I went to grammar school with, friends' mothers whom I had not met (one of those sent me a box of TWENTY hand knitted outdoor hats and sewn jersey caps to wear at night), a woman on the bus...

Also: Benadryl. THIS. bahahahaha!

I didn't hear any of those, except perhaps the "<insert-food-here> was a mistake" one.
Maybe i was at a boring cancer ward.

> "at least now I can stop worrying about getting cancer" is a great line

And you can start worrying about your increased chances of getting a different type of cancer!
Oh, and:
"shit, i feel a lump, is this a lump, crap, feel this, do you think it's a lump? i have cancer again..."
Later on,
doctor: "what? where? i don't feel anything."

"When you drink, it's liquor before beer. But when you do chemo, it's methotrexate before leucovorin."

That's when I laughed out loud. This was great, and I sent it to some people. Thanks.

Still funnier than the "What my friends/mother/the public/customers/I think I do / What I really do" 6-panel Facebook meme. Which was funny about twice; maybe three times.

"Wait until they hear about THIS on Caring Bridge" made me guffaw. This is good.
