Just like real cats - they always somehow find their way atop the tallest thing around.

A pixelated crazy cat lady action figure.

Suggest easing this process by placing a small piece of paper on top of the tower.

Nothing. Nothing more need.

Can they make it so that if you extend your finger a cat HAS to touch it with the end of it's nose, in accordance with real world cat physics?

I have no idea how these people got their cats wedged into their Minecraft, or why.

Maybe some people to finally work out a modding API... oh, wait! Mojang hired the team that made Bukkit, the server mod/API that stabilized and united Minecraft server modding, so that they can work on improving the official server and create an official modding API? Yep, two days ago!

Bukkit is pretty much required for anyone running a public Minecraft server. There are a lot of extremely useful plugins for things like keeping track of every block that every user changes, so that if a griefer nukes everything or someone accidentally sets a huge fire that damages everyone else's stuff, you can roll back just those changes without having to revert to a full backup. Ironically the new version of Minecraft that adds cats (1.2) is not compatible with Bukkit yet, and the client and server versions have to be the same so anyone who upgrades their client to 1.2 can't play on most of the servers out there. Plus the latest Bukkit version itself is apparently has a lot of breaking changes to the API, so every single plugin that a given server uses has to be modified to work with 1.2 before the server can upgrade to the version that most of the clients are now using. The plugin system is a huge mess in my opinion for these sorts of reasons, so it would definitely be a good thing if Mojang worked with the Bukkit devs to put a more sane system in place.

I just wish Mojang could come to an agreement with the Optifine guy. They approached him, but couldn't agree on financial terms, apparently. If there's one mod that should be built into the game, that's it.

I just really need them to release that Herp Derp Fortress game that he's been showing screenshots of.

Catsplosion? Man, Minecraft steals everything from Dwarf Fortress!

In other news, Notch gave 3 mil to the rest of the Mojang staff today. His entire dividend from 2011.

Minecraft has cats? Why didn't anyone ever told me. I never understood why someone would be interested in Minecraft until now.

A not insignificant amount, actually.

DICKS! Everywhere!

Oh, wait, no, excuse me a second, CATS everywhere!

Forgot about the rule: dicks and cats are synonymous on the internet.

Minecraft has cats? Why didn't anyone ever told me.

They were just added today. Up until this point there were dogs that you could get as pets if you tamed a wolf. Now there are ocelots that you can tame to make into a cat.

You can make Iron Golems now, so they can patrol the city and toss any offending monster into the sky; Except Creepers. I guess like real policemen there are certain individuals they will always call backup on. They will flatten those flatulent endermen though, for free enderperls!

I added a plugin to bukkit today so I can catch the little shit who's been making nasty pixel art in my kid's server. I mean, it's one of the 10 kids with the IP...but which one? So now the next time a giant pixelated penis appears we can poke it with a cobweb and find the culprit. I was mightily pleased with myself, until the calls started. My kid wasn't even off the bus and his friends were already calling with the news and wanting to upgrade and in a general tizzy. "DO NOT UPGRADE" I told them, "WAIT FOR BUKKIT" But they're 6th graders, and they want their cats. One in particular probably wants to do terrible things with cats. But when he does, when I see a towering, flaming dick made out of ocelots, I'll be ready for him with my magic cobweb.

The other moms in the PTO just do not get me at all.

I'm not sure if that sentence fails the Turing Test or totally wins it!

Mojang has been making some very good decisions, lately.

You're obviously referring to Notch's offer to fund a sequel to Psychonauts, and I agree 100%

Umm...

Which if you read the article (rather than the headline) says notch is still up for funding Psychonauts 2 but there are a few ifs and buts in place, as there should be when you're talking about 10+ million dollars.

I've been thinking that whole discussion was about a sequel to Scribblenauts.
