Huh. Ten years since Oolong, the internet has gone full circle. What animals will be balancing things on their head in 2020? We can only imagine.

Well it certainly looks like a slightly tattered jean jacket to me.

Scout could use a little modesty patch in some of those.

Firstly, I wish to express my disappointment that these were not photos of stuff on some precocious girl scout's head.

Secondly, I know exactly what Scout is thinking in each photo.

In the first one he's thinking "Master puts things on Scout so Scout good boy so Scout gets fed now?"

In the second one he's thinking "Master puts things on Scout so Scout good boy so Scout gets fed now?"

In the third one he's thinking "Master puts things on Scout so Scout good boy so Scout gets fed now?"

In the fourth one he's thinking "Master puts things on Scout so Scout good boy so Scout gets fed now?"

In the fifth one he's.... ah well, you get the drift.

I thought it was a double too at first but then realized I was thinking about Maddie the dog on top of things.

I was a little bit disappointed to not see the cat on the head. I would clap for that.

heyho: "I want to know what that cat is wearing. It's disturbing."

It looks like some sort of denim jacket. But the cat also has that look of "he better not try putting that stuff on MY head."

I'm sure that dog gets plenty of play time and is plenty loved. My cats have got the life. They don't have to do a goddamned thing but look cute and lay around and eat and shit and lay around. 99.99% of their life is perfect and they get their way. If I have an opportunity for a good photo op that they may not like, well too bad, we'll just call it payment for the roof over their head, food, all the toys they could ask for, personal massage therapist, maid service, and endless love.

If this dude(ette) can ever figure out a way to parlay this into a money-making endeavor say, in the form of a calendar, he should probably send the Former Congressman Chuckles (or just Chuck, whatever), a royalty check c/o of Dooce.

When I was a scout and we went on camping trips, every night we had to pair off and search each others' scalps for ticks. Based on the title, I kinda thought this post would be about such things. Thankfully not.

Scout is a good dog. A very, very good dog. And I hope he gets lots of treats after these photo shoots.

I seriously doubt Heather Armstrong was the very first person in all the world to balance stuff on her dog's head and take photos of it. Was she the first blogger to do so? Possibly.

I think Scout's cuter and there's no other noise to contend with.
