Yea, thought this was going to be based somehow based on an awesome board game. Oh well.

From Audiofile (1995):
This science fiction radio drama is sure to delight fans of space opera. The evil forces of Dominion have taken over Earth and its galaxy. Rebel forces struggle to defend and preserve their planet Cygnus III and its few unconquered settlements. Reminiscent of the Star Wars series, the program draws on 2001: A Space Odyssey, as well. The best part of the program is its production. The cast of actors could have had more depth, but the sound and special effects are great. The clarity of sound, unusual dimensional qualities and subtle sound effects are a treat for listeners.

Odd to see something published on audiocassette in 1995 classified as "old time radio."

This just makes me want to do a radio serial podcast, a la the ZBS foundation. Anyone know anything about audio recording? Hit me up let's make a radio drama.

Think_Long, The Fourth Tower of Inverness amazes me to this day. Much of it is pure camp, but it can be so involving... and the use of stereophonics so good... Zowie.

"Jack, use this oar to beat away the demons! They're trying to climb aboard our boat!"
"OK. - Uncle, are you going to raise the sail to get us out of here?"
"No, I'm going to make tea."

You have to be listening, for that scene to work.

Sometimes I listen to Baba Ram Dass recordings just to try and capture that special feeling I get whenever he shows up on the jukebox. It's all utter baloney, but so affective.

If I recall there is a twist ending, but I haven't listened to it since the early 90s. I borrowed it from the local library, and listened to it while assembling various space vessel papercraft out of Odyssey Magazine (back when it was strictly an astronomy/space travel pub).

Just found this one too, Rebel Mission to Ord Mantell.

First publication was in 1984.

Anything that requires any actual effort to produce is considered "old time radio". Because nobody believes radio is worth it anymore.

13 episodes is a lot to say "Chapel, Gardens and Witch." The proceeding is a stupid in-joke having to do with a certain card game I've been obsessed with. Never mind me.

"We are Dominion... we claim Earth and it's galaxy as our own!"

Emphasis mine

A few seconds in. Too many significant figures. It annoys me.

I may actually have a tape version of this packed away somewhere. I think this was recorded in St. Louis and has several local radio personalities involved. The main thing I remember about it is how tired I got of the repetition of the line "What is the Secret of Dominion? Have you discovered it yet? And what is ... Emerald Tree?"
